Here's a compact Britzer purse wallet made from Italian vegetable tanned glazed tamponato cow shoulder.

This design is inspired by origami and Japanese wallets in the way it unfolds and has plenty of space for coins, bills and knick-knacks. I love the minimal simplicity of it.

The glazed tamponato leather is glossy with glitter-like surface. It was painted and then glazed with a glass press by hand to create such a particular surface. And I've also polished all the edges and the inside with a worn-in finish to match.

It features copper hardware and light tan waxed thread, saddle-stitched and built to last for years.

NB: the leather color looks very different in different lighting conditions and on different cameras. You can compare it on the product photos with direct sunlight, shade and a video shot on a phone. In the dark this wallet looks almost black, and it ignites with bright green as the sun hits it.

Each item is one of a kind due to the natural full grain texture of leather and the creative process. Everything particular about this item is as it should be.

Quality is a journey

Hand-stitched

Saddle stitch is the strongest seam that can't be replicated by a sewing machine... for sure it's an overkill.

Still the quality comes not from its toughness, but from the process and the journey. First through my hands and then in your own adventures.

My principles and choices

Avant-garde leather

Horse culatta

I'm mesmerized by horse culatta with shell cordovan traces and wrinkles.

It arrives with waxy residue and matte texture to be polished by your hands and develop a smooth shine.

What is horse culatta?

Heritage leathercraft

Made to last

Vegetable tanned full-grain leather is a very particular material. It won't stay brand new and perfect like a heavily coated chrome tanned leather.

Instead it develops character and patina, and this is how it can survive much longer, through changes.
