Culatta / shell cordovan split leather clutch with a shoulder strap.
This is one of the very first Köpenicker purses I've made, once I figured out the best proportions and design.
Here I've used brass hardware with a solid copper snap button. Plus a thick adjustable leather strap.
This leather is very particular, it's cut from a deeper layer of the horse's butt. So some parts of it are soft and flexible and some have the natural shell coating, that feels like a glaze.
You can also get this clutch in dirty white, natural skin and black. And each of them feels very different.
All leather items are hand-stitched and handmade without any machines from the most amazing materials. Traditional veg tan leather, deadstock Italian leather, glass glazed horse shoulder, horse culatta and shell cordovan. You can read more about the horse leather in the blog.
Each item is one of a kind due to the natural full grain texture of leather and the creative process. Everything particular about this item is as it should be.

What is horse culatta leather?
Culatta leather also comes mostly from horses. Anatomically only equine animals have the shell connective tissue in their butts. So probably donkey or zebra culatta is also technically possible, but...
